
To help curb obesity United presented a new proposal, healthier foods, including more fruits and vegetables, to bring the nation of public schools States Department of agriculture.
According to the U.S. Centers for disease control and prevention (CDC), obesity has tripled in the last 30 years. Prices went from 6.5% to 19.6% from 1980 to 2008, children 6 to 11 years old. And youth, ages 12 to 19, jumped from 5.0% to 18.1%.
Not only of the new plan, fruits, vegetables and whole grain products to increase, but it is to eat also sodium and saturated fats in the coffee shop and outright ban trans fat free cut from schools.
The new proposal would also the availability of many favorites eat cafeteria as pizza and fries limit. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, says the initiative the estimated 32 million school meals and 12 million school of products will impact each year.
Ultimately the crack down on unhealthy food and improved availability of healthy foods to stop the constant increase in obesity and encouraging, improving eating habits in children for the rest of your life.
Some conservative politicians argue that monitoring food nutrition standards in schools which no business off of the Federal Government, but this claim is ridiculed by health advocates and ignored by the general public.
Other highlights of the proposal are monitoring the snacks in vending machines sold. In addition once rules effectively, schools must meet the standards to federal aid, i.e. financing.
The CDC warns that obesity in childhood children risk of developing health problems such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke and certain types of cancer later in life increases's.
